The Edible Schoolyard - Last Week’s Visit

I try to go to The Edible Schoolyard every season. I like to see how it changes. I’ve been going for years. I guess it’s about 13 years now. I like to go on the weekends or after school hours when it’s quiet and peaceful. When I’m there I’m peaceful yet very alive. What’s that old commercial for some brand of coffee? ...  “perks you up while it calms you down!”

I go and photograph. I try to go at different times for the changes in light. Light is everything to the photographer. I used to bring my daughters there when they were little. They loved it too. My oldest daughter volunteered to work there for a while.

Here are the photographs I took last week -- 2 February 2013 ...

This is a school garden. Indeed. And it has a teaching kitchen. All thanks to the Chez Panisse Foundation and wonderful volunteers and hardworking students and teachers.

Ready to plant

I always visit the chickens.

Garden signs for reuse.

One of the classrooms.

Beautiful storage.
